The Lindy Hop 1935

Posted by Dance

From the short: SYMPHONY IN BLACK 1935
What we have here is an example of the Lindy Hop in 1935 at the very beginning of the big band era. The dancers are Cotton Club veterans Earl “Snake Hips” Tucker and Bessie Dudley. The music is of coarse provided by Duke Ellington and his Orchestra. At about the :35 mark we briefly see a young Billie Holiday.
