Swing Dance 1940From the movie: SUNDAY SINNERS 1940 I don’t know who the dancers are but some of them are pretty good. (Visited 1 times, 1 visits today)
Frankie Manning mentions, in his book, a pair of black dancers who they all called Savoy's own Fred & Ginger. I can't remember the names now and don't have the book with me, but I remember that there wasn't much knowledge or footage of the two that we knew at the time the book was published. But the pair at the end certainly does show some of that same flair, and stand out against almost every clip I've seen, trying to find them through the years.. I'm very curious to see if anyone else has some thoughts about this. This might very well be the pair. I suspect so
Black lindy hop dancers were not publicly named back then. That's why we hardly know any formally black dancer except for Frankie Manning and Norma Miller.
Other races want the sauce but black people have the recipe
Wow a mix to be proud of. Tough dancing so much.
People looked so much happier and healthy then…
Really Cool
They look great!!
