From the short: RUFUS JONES FOR PRESIDENT 1933
If you can get past the awful racial stereotypes in this scene the number itself is really fun with great energy. I did have the names of the singer and the two main dancers at one time but I no longer do. All I remember is the two dancers were from the Cotton Club and I have to say I love the guys footwork. The chorus is “The Will Vodery Girls” and the excellent band may be Russell Wooding’s.
Great stuff bill first time seeing this! I love you and yeah darn those freaking racial close up takes!
great early 30's clip. I took me years to figure out the name of this one as I randomly recorded it on TCM in early 2000's. If you ever remember who the dancers are I would love to know.
